I’ve tried that sexy comments plugin and have found that users do not use it as much as a very simple sharing plugin/buttons. I think they don’t know how to use it, or its just too flashy for some sites.

I have been a fan of using “Stripe” type ads on the top of the page, to really grab attention where the eye is trained to focus. That works very well for contests or news.

Hi Annie. I have a different way of drafting up all my posts as well. I actually use either Dreamweaver or FrontPage to write my articles in and then I copy/paste it to my WordPress WYSIWYG editor.

If you find or know of any plugins you’d like to share, please feel free to leave links to them. If it hits my spam filter don’t worry, I’ll should see it and will approve it.

Hi John,

This is a great post! There are a couple of plugins I didn’t know about here. Like the PHP Image Manager – that might come in handy.

The problem for me with some of these plugins is that I use a desktop posting software (MarsEdit [for Mac]) and don’t actually post from within my blog’s admin. So, things like the post footer plugin don’t work properly. I have to save my post as a draft, go in to the admin area on the blog and edit the post, then publish – which is cumbersome and time consuming. And defeats the whole purpose of using MarsEdit.

Oh well! It’s a great list, though. Thanks! I will certainly be checking out a couple I don’t have.

@ Suzanne – No problem, thanks for the link. I love lists like these, too. Even if this post were 200+ WordPress plugins I bet I’d still of missed a lot.

@ Barbara Ling – Thanks for stopping by . I’ll have to add that Peel Away plugin to my growing list in our forum. It’s pretty cool and I like the graphic. Put on the right page that could be very useful.
