Hi Al, thanks for stopping by. I primarily use Blip and YouTube but have a Vimeo account just for testing purposes.

I agree, all three are pretty good. Blip has been a little easier for me to work with. For example, whenever I try to comment on one of my own videos on YouTube - my comment doesn't post? I dun get it?

BTW, love your Avatar. I'm off to check out your video site. Thanks for the info!

I actually like all three platforms Vimeo(Mostly for the quality, ease of uploading and Privacy settings) I can upload a video on Vimeo, hide it from the Vimeo users and only have it play on my site/blog. Blip(Player Options,Scheduling options in the pro account and most of all Revenue Sharing-As soon as you upload you video you can participate in the Ad shares, Youtube(Viewers)The first place people look for video content on the web is Youtube period and they do have Ad Sharing bt only after you qualify. I think the video quality on all the services are great, you just have to upload your video the each sites specs. Long story short I use all three but wish there was a way that I could only use one but it looks like Blip.tv is working on that.

"Blimp" lol.

Vimeo seems to have excellent video quality and I think is a little more popular than Blip, so more people might visit Vimeo and find your video through their search.

File size-wise (and in the non paid versions), Vimeo only lets you upload up to 500MB per week whereas Blip.tv allows you up to 1GB uploads and you're not limited to how many.

I did check out Vimeo before I decided to stick with Blip.tv and the reason why I chose Blip.tv was the upload limits and I liked the "TV" version of the player better than Vimeo. I like how Blip.tv has the controls underneath the actual video instead of in it.

As for YouTube, they use to have a setting where you could upload large video files, I don't think that was working out for them so they've put their limits back in place. This really sucks because it means if my video goes over 10 minutes, I'll have to chop it up into separate videos. However, YouTube will probably bring you more traffic.

<strong>Jim</strong>
Why would I get duplicate content? I have videos on blip and videos on YouTube. Search engines cannot spider videos. I just purchased a webcam, so you'll probably starting seeing more of me and a lot more mess ups hehe.

<strong>Debbie</strong>
That's good you don't use the same password. I use a different password for everything I use. To keep track of them, use the password manager, Roboform - it's well worth the purchase.

The nice thing about blip.tv is you can upload significantly larger videos than YouTube. I uploaded a 35 minute video the other day; YouTube, however, only allows you 10 minute videos.

Actually, I like the appeal of less popularity for Blip.tv. I have refrained from using youtube because I don't want my videos being found by sickos. Most of what I want to upload are video's of my girls, especially Peanut with some Ds Awareness post and I don't want it really found other than through my blog. If that makes sense. I have had to just use other mediums but they severely limit how long the video can be. I usually don't want more than a couple minutes but it would be nice to have the freedom to make it longer if I want.

Also, I used to have a youtube account and something odd got posted on my blog which gave me concern I had been hacked. I cancelled the youtube account, and changed my blog password. I don't use the same password for my blog and any other site anymore.
