Hi John,
This was very helpful Thank you, I'm just having a bit of trouble with the "Add" button for some reason my blog site doesn't go over to the "selected website profile" box when I hit it and there fore isn't filtering it out.
I'm not sure how to fix this little glitche... any idea what I've missed?

Hi John,
Thank you sooo much. I've been fighting WP for about a year trying to learn what can be done with it. Had no idea that all those plugins aren't needed and I can do things with my theme without them. That's a big relief:)

Hi Tara. Glad you found us, too.

Typically, your IP address won't change too often. I would simply plug it in and then forget about it. If you notice a change, make an adjustment.

It's not a perfect system I know, but it's what we have to work with.

Hi John,
I'm so glad I found this site, and your tutorials! I had a question about blocking ip addresses. How do you block your own ip address if it is not static? Is it even possible without making yourself crazy checking and adding the new ip address all the time?

Hi John,

Thank you for replying! :) I've read great things about CrazyEgg. I've also read good things about ClickTale, so I look forward to reading more of your thoughts on it.

I'm following you on Twitter now. You have great Tweets! We definitely have interests in common. I saw that you tweeted with Eric Hamm. I tweet with him often too. I love frugal Theme. :)

Hi Lillea, thanks for stopping by and I'm glad to hear the videos were useful.

I see you're using the Firefox add-on Ghostery, like me. ;)

At the moment we are using the free version of ClickTale (just experimenting with it first).

I've used CrazyEgg before and am considering signing up for it again. I got on board with CrazyEgg way back when they first got started and the tracking was free. Since then I guess they've grown and now their service costs money. I liked the service. The heat map is second to none.

Never used Clicky before.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you back. It looks like we have similar interests.

Thank you John! Your video makes it so clear. I had such problems with the Google Analytics plugin that I was using. It's the standard one that most people use, but it stopped working on my blog a while ago and there is no fix, apparently. Your post about adding the tracking code without a plugin plus this video are greatly appreciated! I look forward to reading my stats in a couple of days.

Are you using the free or paid version of ClickTale? Have you ever tried CrazyEgg? What about Clicky?

Hi Jim. I hear good things about Woopra. I've been using ClickTale for awhile now and am hooked. It allows you to also watch using live stats. I also use SiteMeter, it's real easy to use, unlike Google Analytics (but is much less powerful).

Nice, I use Woopra now for stats because I can watch the live stats and follow the clicks and times per click by IP address.
